Wavelength Entertainment and POND5 Join forces.

Wavelength Entertainment, an award-winning full-service international media production company, is pleased to announce its collaboration with Pond 5, the world’s largest marketplace for royalty-free video, to produce ongoing series and documentaries.

This co-development agreement allows Wavelength to create factual programming using content from Pond5’s vast catalog of footage, animation, images, and more. The deal was initially finalized back in the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic with formal announcement only released now that there are two documentary series financed and in varying stages of production, including: Six Degrees of Inspiration - a 9 x 60-minute non-fiction series that will be promoted at MIPCOM:

From the famous to the infamous, the iconic to the obscure, Six Degrees of Inspiration takes in the entire breadth, the prodigious scope, and the almost magical interconnectivity of some of humanity’s greatest, and foulest achievements. Join us as we watch the remarkable circumstances of how the great weave of history came together to create: a vaccine, a cell phone, a bullet train, an artificial organ, a nuclear bomb, or a spaceship to another world. Thanks to an unprecedented partnership with world-leading footage library Pond 5, each story will be told using the rich and carefully researched archive to tell the remarkable history of human advancement in the areas of science and technology. Each of the characters’ extraordinary connections will be a fresh spin on the biography format. Additionally, expert interviews, CGI, and originally shot 4k content will be used to blend the transitions from a century’s worth of rarely seen archival footage to recreate a past that was so significant to bring us to where we are today.

“Wavelength Entertainment is thrilled to partner with Pond 5, the world leader in stock footage, to create broadcast and streaming-ready, award worthy factual content. This unprecedented partnership, motivated by the recent sweeping changes to our industry and to the world at large, is what gives Six Degrees of Inspiration, and other projects, its unique visual style. Each episode will be carefully and creatively crafted out of the greatest collection of stock footage ever amassed. In our digital world, stock footage - or ‘found footage’ - is our record of who we are. It is what we find when we search out our curiosities online. It is our new school, our new language and it is the very fabric of this show,”

says Jeff Stecyk (Principle/Executive Producer of Wavelength).
